Tata-Dhan Academy
Tata-Dhan Academy is a pioneer institute in the field of development management education. The Academy grooms and nurtures young graduates as development professionals for development action by providing them with relevant attitude, skill and knowledge. DHAN Foundation established the Tata-Dhan Academy in 2000; Sir Ratan Tata Trust (SRTT) extended its strategic seed support to help position the Academy as a Centre of Excellence in Development management.
The three broad purpose of the Academy are to:
- Induct and groom young graduates as development professionals through specially designed long duration programmes.
- Enable practitioners to use the knowledge and disseminate the knowledge to other organizations and educational institutions.
- Build knowledge through action/reflection and by adapting global knowledge to the Indian context.
The Academy conducts the following activities:
- Programme in Development Management (PDM)
- Development Management Programmes (DMP)
- Research, Documentation, and Publication
- Consultancy
- Centre’s for specialization (ACE DRR and ASKMI)
The Academy endeavours to provide specialized knowledge and practice on mutual insurance and disaster risk reduction through Asian Knowledge Centre for Mutual Insurance (ASKMI) and Advanced Centre for Enabling Disaster Risk Reduction (ACE DRR) respectively.
